How to survive a VIP!

I am a VIP! I know it & you know it! You may not like the fact, but you can’t deny the reality! Anyone who doesn’t know who is bigger than him is a fool! And since I don’t think you’re a fool, it becomes necessary, (as part of the mentoring responsibility thrust on me by my greatness), to educate you on how to survive around me!
Here goes;
-i- massage my ego continually!
-ii- accept my established infallibility!
-iii- tone down your personal dreams!
-iv- check my mood before you move!
-v- choose only friends that I approve!
-vi- fight against everyone that I dislike!
-vii- hide your light when mine is shining!
-viii- find your motivation in my disdain!
-ix- disregard truth when it contradicts me!
-x- never expect me to say, “I am sorry!”
Now you say, ’Naaah’! This is nonsense! I will never submit to this trash! Pastor, I hope this is satire! God will judge anyone with this type of VIPness! Even if you’re feeding me, this is not a demand for loyalty but a demand for worship – and I refuse to worship a man!
Another says, Pastor, tell them! That’s how my boss, my overseer, my spouse, my political leader etc behaves! The moment they become big, they’ll start thinking of themselves as gods! If only they can hear someone like ‘George Izunwa’, maybe they’ll change!
Hmmm! Anyone need a mirror? It looks like we are all VIP’s. We all love to be the “one”! We often enter that zone unwittingly! It’s part of the fallen nature in man! We love to lord it over others – and complain when others lord it over us! In the marriage, office, church, government etc. We are often only humble until we get ‘there’! Thank God ‘say man no be God o oh’!
But then, the call of God is to a different kind of greatness;
“And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. “And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. “But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.” – Lk 22:24-26
And we say…. So help us Lord! Help us to have a healthy view of ourselves! Help us to consider others! Help us to lead with heart & head! Help us not to be lords over your people! Help us to be true friends! Lord, help us to reflect your love nature to everyone in our immediate world! Amen!
I pray that today, you will receive the grace of humility, courtesy, empathy, forgiveness, forbearance, gratitude, etc. May men see your greatness in your goodness! I pray that your light will ever shine before men & your glory will never go down in Jesus Christ name!
Much Love
George Izunwa Lead Pastor
