Living a hope-full life

Tunnels are not often our preferred driveways! Even when major highways go through tunnels, it’s often because of limited options. The view inside a tunnel isn’t pretty. The space is cramped & constraining! It’s atmosphere does not carry the freedom of “fresh air”. Claustrophobia thrives in it!

No one wants to be in any tunnel longer than necessary! We can handle a quick ‘go through’ but are restless with a long ‘stay in’. And especially, when the tunnel is dark. Light at the end may be a small comfort, but the journey to the end is where the challenge lies. Only hope survives tunnels!

Hope is a beautiful thing

Hope makes even ‘senseless pain’ bearable. The hunger that has hope doesn’t kill. No one who has hope of a tomorrow better that today will commit suicide! Hope keeps a person running on stamina even when strength is gone. Hope is positive about ‘the end’ beyond ‘the now!’

And even in life’s darkest moments, we can still keep hope alive;

  • that our government will soon make sense
  • that God will intervene in the impossible case
  • that the lost marital love can be recovered
  • that the addict son will be rehabilitated
  • that this next try will bring the breakthrough
  • that the truth will vindicate the accused
  • that on-time help will arrive for the victim
  • that Arsenal will somehow make a comeback

There is a word of hope

“For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
“Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
“Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.” –  Job 14:7-9

That’s it! There is hope even in hopelessness! And for the pessimist I ask; what is the other option outside of a hopeful life? Only darkness & dread! No. Hope is the only option! It is life’s most important coping skill! It is actually the light in the tunnel before we get to the tunnels end!

Hope delivers results

There are times that even as we pray, our minds are still wondering at the possibility of our expected end! Never worry. It doesn’t invalidate your walk with God. Faith begins with hope & even doubting people with hope experience divine intervention. Sarah was one. Gideon also. Zechariah too. The man in Mark 9 got his testimony. And Lazarus still came forth!

So? Let’s believe again this week! The year isn’t over yet. Life isn’t over. God is still up to something new! 2020 will not be a wasted year! And the days ahead will still bring the best for you. Yes, keep hope alive & heaven will smile on your expectations!

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” – Rom 15:13

Prayer:

I speak rest to your soul! I command a hastening of your testimonies! Let 2020 deliver its fulness to you! No more hopelessness & dismay! Grace will bring you through in Jesus Christ name!

Much Love
