Tired of Giving in!

Rosa Parks is an American civil rights heroine! She was the rallying point of the Montgomery bus boycott & a major voice, with Martin Luther King Jnr & others, in the fight for racial equality.

Although she had been an activist for many years, she gained fame after her arrest for refusing to give up her seat in the colored section of a public bus, for a white man. Her resolve was simple;

“I would have to know for once and for all, what rights I had as a human being and a citizen.”

In the book, “Rosa Parks: My story,” she wrote; “People always say that I didn’t give up my seat because I was tired, but that isn’t true. I was not physically tired, or no more tired than I usually was at the end of a working day. I was not old, although some people have an image of me being old then. I was forty two. No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in!” Hmmm! Aren’t you tired too?

Tired of being sick & tired!

Sometimes, you just have to show that you’re tired of nonstop nonsense! And anytime a sick person is tired of being ‘a patient,’ he/she stops being patient! Impatient people become restless & restless people take action! They sit, stand, speak, move, write etc. And sometimes, they make trouble!

It was civil rights leader Fannie Lou Hamer that said, “All my life I’ve been sick & tired, now, I’m tired of being sick & tired!” Are you?

– reject the emotional, verbal & physical abuse in the relationship!

– call out the sexual harassment by your boss, lecturer, relative, pastor etc.

– stand up against girl child exploitation & work place gender inequality!

– oppose tribalism, nepotism & religious fanaticism in the government!

– highlight political murders, kidnapping, banditry & ethnic cleansing!

– challenge hidden bank charges & telephone/electricity etc tariff hikes!

– speak up against police brutality, illegal detention & unjust judgments!

– say ‘NO’ to spiritual exploitation & dehumanizing ‘religious’ practices!

Action is our responsibility!

We need to act! That’s our responsibility! And again, we also need to intercede! Evil doesn’t just hurt us, it offends God & invokes divine judgment! Where there are no intercessors, people suffer both human oppression & divine judgment!

“The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. “Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD” – Ezek 22:28-31.

Receive grace to step up & step in both physically & spiritually!

Prayer

You will not see evil anymore! The hand of the oppressor is broken over your life! May the coming days bring healing to our land! I curse every agent of wickedness! Go forth & succeed in Jesus Christ name!
