Sometimes, it’s so long…

Goodbyes aren’t always sweet! And there are times when a goodbye can be very traumatic! Like standing by the graveyard of a spouse, sibling or child, gone too soon, by an accident or disease! Burying a tragic victim of senseless violence! The heart wrenching breakup! That nasty church split!  Inexplicable betrayals! When a lie, constructed by mischief, seems to succeed & relationships or jobs are lost! Being bundled out of office by an askew judgment! Etc. Goodbyes are not always easy!
But there are times, when a goodbye means, “good riddance to bad rubbish”! When moving out & moving on is more healthy than clinging to what’s not working & has no promise of getting better! When the option is between a bitter now & a better next! When deep within your heart, you can feel God saying, enough! When the longer you hold on to the dead thing – no matter how amazing it was at the beginning – all you get is a stink up & not a resurrection!
Yes…. Sometimes, a goodbye is not just necessary, but a “go on” is the only commanded action!
“Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, “Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.” – Jos 1:1-2
Hmmm! Joshua, I know Moses was everything to you, but it’s time to say, “so long”…. this chapter is closed!
And for many of my singles out there…. who have dated, been over dated & are almost getting out dated, sometimes, we’ve got to say; ENOUGH!
Question: How do I know when to say so long this “valentine season”?
-i- when the bitterness between you is more than the intimacy!
-ii- when the trust is broken & nothing is being done to heal it!
-iii- when the love is one sided & the abuse is only intensifying!
-iv- when you’ve celebrated potential for too long without performance!
-v- when the “picture” of their nature that captivated you was all fakery!
-vi- when there’s no future in the journey & you’ve got no more time to kill!
-vii- when it hurts the heart of God & insults everything you know about godliness!

But then, it doesn’t have to end bitterly! It can be crafted well! You, positive; them, well, positive too! Why? Everyone, no matter their faults & failures, still has value with God & with other people! Value their value & God for your new beginning!
“No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other’s worth.” – Robert Southey

“The world is round and the place which may seem like the end, may also be the beginning.”  – Ivy Baker Priest
Have an amazing season of love & goodwill! May God always bring the best into your life! May you have the grace to let go at the right time! May you never miss any destiny opportunities & the blessings that go with them in Jesus Christ name!
Much Love
