Don’t overstay!

Don’t overstay!
The discerning always know when they’ve overstayed their welcome in any place!
Like….

the conversation slows down into awkward silence!

the hosts’ body language begins to shout boredom!

the host keeps mentioning other interests & activities needing their attention!

someone suddenly appears who needs the space they’re occupying!
And…. no one needs to tell you to find an excuse, to get up & go!
Hmmm!
But then, it takes another kind of discernment to know when not to overstay…. in a destiny mess; in the place of failure & shame; in the place of loss, disappointment & despair!
Yes…. It takes a discerning heart to know when to wipe your tears, throw off the sackcloth, pick up the pieces of your heart, draw strength from Gods grace & drag yourself off the floor!

Question: How do you know you’re almost overstaying?

when associates begin to label you with your pain!

when your loss is becoming an excuse & a crutch!

when the dark cloud is turning into your life’s colour!

when your issue has started defining your personality!

when you’re postponing your future based on your past!

when your anger is transitioning into roots of bitterness!

when your spirituality is being eroded by the experience!
Friend, when these signs begin to appear, it’s time to stop mourning & start moving; it’s time to forgive yourself, force selective amnesia, find a reason for hope & forge ahead!
“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
“And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. “And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.” – 1 Sam 30:6-8 (KJV)
Ok Pastor….. Practically speaking, how do I get up?

Decide to fight “it”!

Force out prayers!

Seek counsel & help!

Act immediately!

I see you overtake every adversary & adverse situation! I see you recover all you lost & much more! I see God compensate you for every challenging season of your life in Jesus Christ name!
More Grace!
